Who are the bands?
Food / drinks / etc ...
All WNY Radio wants to be able to keep these free - just like we did with the House Party series. But these are much more costly to operate than our house parties were. So we need vendors to help us recoup the costs. As a result, we need you to keep the coolers and food at home and get your food and drink from our vendors. |
Music at the Marina - 2007
Lockport - Area residents will be able to test run a planned concert series at Lockport's Widewaters Marina on Tuesday thanks to All WNY Radio and Lockport's First Ward Alderman Tom Grzebinski.
Grzebinski teamed with All WNY Radio, a Lockport based internet radio station, to create Tuesday's show, and hopefully a full-fledged series of shows next year.
The free concert, slated for 5:30 p.m., will feature three Western New York bands, including one of the area's premiere blues bands, Lockport's own Flyin' Blind Blues Band.
Band frontman Damien Brady said, "The band and I are very excited about playing not only in our hometown of Lockport, but also for this first in what we hope are many concerts to take place at Widewaters Marina."
Opening up for the Lockport band will be The Road Home, a blues/classic rock outfit coming up from Orchard Park, and Madeleine White and Jeremy Mohr, a Williamsville duo.
The three groups will complement each other well, according to Scott Leffler, the man behind All WNY Radio. All three music acts can be heard regularly on the music stream on his website, AllWNYRadio.com.
Grzebinski adds, "A concert series at the marina is something that the First Ward residents have expressed interest in for several years. In conjunction with All WNY Radio, I am excited to coordinate the upcoming concert at the marina, which should serve as the perfect setting for a great family event."
Brady says, "We work forward to working with All WNY Radio and think that local music will only benefit from this concert series," adding, "Long live the blues."
The free event is possible because of vendor sponsorship including the Ski Lodge and Mrs. Ribs. The Lockport Monday Night Cruise Optimist Club is also sponsoring the event and providing the neccesary insurance.
Because the vendors are neccesary to make the event possible, organizers ask people to leave coolers at home and purchase the food and drink they need at the marina.
Times:
Opening Band - about 6 p.m.
Second Band - 6:50 ish
Headline Act - 7:50 or so.
Etc ...
The show will be recorded, as usual, by J. Ryan K. It will be broadcast on All WNY Radio on Friday night. This way, people can hear it twice ... or hear what they missed. This show will NOT be broadcast live, but the hope is to have next years concerts all broadast live on All WNY Radio. |
